Camera Info

My camera of choice is the Canon 1DS MKIII Professional Camera Body. I love the fact that it has a 21.1 megapixel full frame sensor. I use Lexar Pro Media cards and have the camera configured to write the full size RAW file and a small JPEG to the card. Once it is written to the card, the smaller JPEG file is then sent wirelessly from the Canon WIFI Transmitter on the camera direct to my IPAD. This wireless image takes about 2 seconds to appear on my IPAD and from there I can view, magnify and stretch the image to confirm that my intricate lighting is accurately portraying the weapon as planned. For those of you that have never had the privelage to shoot wirelessly, I would highly recommend it! For those interested, I will elaborate on the details of wirelessly shooting in a future blog.

I have quite a selection of lenses but my favorite lens for photographing guns with is the Canon 100mm Macro. It is extremely sharp and has a great aperature range. I prefer to shoot between F16 to F32 in order to have the extended depth of field in order to obtain maximum focus even when working with long rifles.
